It's Monday, again.

Monday returns again after a short weekend of trying to do nothing.

I did consider writing here this weekend, but have found that it is as difficult to post a thought as it is to write email on the weekends when I'm not home alone.

On another note, I'm upset with the U.S. Supreme Court.
I will actually have to go and read their reasoning that the Federal marijuana ban overrules state laws that permit medical marijuana usage.
I'm too upset to vent about it right now. I'm having a hard time remembering when America stopped being what America is suppose to stand for.
Our founding fathers are probably rolling over in their graves. Couldn't we just start the country all over - clean slate and all?
I can just hear the pages being added to my file for being unpatriotic.
Regardless of that fact, I'm concerned that the elected government officials aren't doing what is best for me or the U.S., but what is best for their bottom line.
And I wonder what principles was this country truly founded on?

Always things to ponder.
Still debating the hair thing - cut or trim, color or not
cork or tile flooring for the bathroom
where to go on vacation? I suggested shooting suction darts at the world map, RTL said that she would end up with all the darts in the ocean or the wall, then reminded me that I would have to cut out DeLand, Raleigh, Richmond, Madrid, and Berkeley so we wouldn't end up anywhere we (she) didn't want to be. OK, OK, I do agree with part of the list, but not all of it.

Wow, I didn't know you had cut your hair to your chin; I think it was still long last time we saw you. That's super-brave! I have cut my long hair short once in my life - the summer after seventh grade (that was the same summer I made the mistake of spraying it with an entire bottle of Sun-In; I went back to school with a carrot-colored bob). I have never been brave enough to go that short again!

I don't really know how to eliminate the blonde ends. Do you think that if you cut them off, they'd just bleach right out again? That's what mine tend to do. I haven't spent much time outdoors the past few summers, but up through college I had accustomed myself to the fact that my ends were just always going to be 15 shades lighter than the rest of my hair. The hair around my face and on top of my head would bleach out, too, and I think people just naturally assumed it was highlighting-gone-bad.

A weird thing has happened, though, and I think my hair is turning darker in general; I might be heading toward true brunette like my Mom. I only hope that when I start to turn gray (and it usually takes until sometime after 50 for women in my family), I will have the gorgeous ponytail of snow-white hair that my great-Grandmother had. I have already vowed not to cut it into the gray helmet that most little old ladies carry around on their heads.

I'll have to see if I can dig up a picture of the short hair. Definitely super-brave since the only time it has ever been above my shoulders was the hairstylist who said "don't worry, I won't cut too much off." Famous last words.

As for the blonde ends, bleaching back out is where I keep ending up when I test the theories in my head. I think my only defense is to either be vigilant about keeping it brunette or gasp! go blonde! Nope, not going to do that, blondes don't have more fun. I should just accept that whatever I do will ultimately end up where I started and I should just keep the blonde in check.

Your weird thing is the same reason why I've been thinking about my hair lately. And either I didn't really notice the darkening before or it happened when I wasn't looking. Oh, don't talk about the gray helmet. We went out to eat the other night. Sadly at one of those typical places that attracts the AARP crowd for the early bird specials. And all of the little old ladies had the gray helmet hair. It was sad. Hair stylists who do that should do a better job and talk their little old lady clients out of the once a week wash/set/dry. Go for the ponytail. Besides could you really imagine yourself with a little gray cap of hair barely covering your ears?
