As an (unwritten) etiquette rule, the gift at the wedding should be equivalent value, to the cost of those giving the gifts, dinner. Therefore, if there were 2 of you attending and the dinner was $50 per head, then the gift should be around $100. This of course is different if you were a member of the bridal party itself.
(That said, at my wedding, my Best Man and my Groomsman went in together and bought me a $25 toaster!)
