One more thing
Mar. 21st, 2006 11:01 amI had to take RTL to the airport this morning and on the way back home the radio station that I was listening to played Not Tonight by The New Cars. I had already seen a spot on VH-1 (yes, I watch way too much VH-1) about The New Cars. I thought it was either a strange way for The Cars to make a comeback or a lawsuit waiting to happen. Then I heard the song this morning and it has the same flavor as the hits The Cars had back in the 80's. Part of me was excited because I always loved The Cars and a bit disappointed that they felt the need to change the name. Then the radio announcer starts talking about how Todd Rundgren is the new singer for The New Cars. Wait a minute? What about Ric Ocasek? Of course, the minute I walked in the door I looked this up on the internet and find this article. So the guitarist and the keyboardist from The Cars has "revived" the band, brought on Todd Rundgren as lead singer and changed the name to The New Cars to avoid legal issues. I like the song, but couldn't they have come up with a new name instead of recycling?
