I refuse to recognize instant grits as a legitimate form of grits. The fact that they happen to share a form of the same name is simply an unfortunate coincidence.

My boyfriend loves instant grits. I, myself, can't stand grits period, but I keep begging him to let me make him some real grits. Instant just isn't the same!

I wonder what it is about instant grits. Although, if you've ever had bad grits, instant is a better alternative.

Now I am very frightened.
However, since I just read the ingredient list of a bag of salt and vinegar potato chips which contain salt and about 7 other ingredients to taste like vinegar, I'm not surprised.

I like real grits best, but I don't mind instant. Especially with butter and sugar on them.
