Amazing!

I just got an Evite for a Christmas shindig from friends who live in LA.
Of course, it is on the 10th so I'm not going.
However, I was amazed at the number of people who responded and said they would be there.
A grand total of 77 so far.
Let me also point out that they invited 300 people!
OK, so about 100 people haven't responded so far, but I don't think I know 300 people that I would invite to my house. The other part that I'm amazed by (and perhaps a bit envious) is that they have barely lived in LA six months, yet have collected a large assortment of friends.
I want to be able to collect friends like that!

Things I like

I like that I can see Venus out the living room window while sitting on the couch.

Books

When I went home, I took my mom 23 pounds of books.
Why would I take my mother 23 pounds of books?
She likes to read and it was much cheaper for me to lug them onto an airplane than pay to post them to her.
I came home with 28 pounds of books.
The used book store is going to like me very much.
