I have no idea.
RTL leaves tomorrow for Florida. It's 1 a.m. and nothing has been packed. A few things have been "gathered" but nothing has been officialy packed. The suitcase hasn't even been pulled out. Her plane leaves at 9:45 a.m. Nothing like getting 5 hours of sleep. I thought that because I made sure all the clothes were clean that we wouldn't be having this problem. I should just give up and accept that this will happen everytime, regardless of how prepared I am.

I had to take RTL to SFO this morning. Of course that meant driving home alone, so I had the radio to occupy my time. I was listening to NPR and heard this interesting commentary on Eid al-Adh at the Mall of America. You can listen to it here. I thought it was an interesting reflection of America.

And the other story that I thought was interesting was this one about a Minnesota man named Jonathon Sharkey who is starting his political campaign today. He just so happens to be a satanic priest with the Vampyres, Witches and Pagans Party.

Why didn't anyone point out to me that I spelled incompetence wrong in an earlier post?
And if you look back to check, I fixed it already. I had an "m" where the first "n" goes.
Just call me incompetent.

What part of 'no' do phone solicitors not understand?

I'm sitting on the couch, relaxing and eating my dinner sans RTL and the phone rings. OK, I answered it. But only because I thought it was RTL telling me that she was safely in DeLand. It's the NCSU Alumni Association. I said that it wasn't a good time but asked the purpose of the call. They want me to join the alumni association and want me to know that just because I'm an alumni does not mean I have membership in the alumni association. Duh! Then he goes into his spiel and asking me if I can be counted on for a 5 year membership! First of all, I've already said this wasn't a good time and secondly, I don't do anything over the phone that involves me sending money. I explain this and ask if information could be sent to me via mail or a website that I could check out. Apparently, there is a mathematics student who can't wait for me to read more about the alumni association as he **needs** my membership to guarantee that he has a scholarship to continue his studies. Yeah, I paid off my student loans and he can too. Let's not forget all the jobs I worked to pay what my student loans didn't cover. That sob story certainly wasn't getting a dime out of me. Yes, I sound cruel, but this is one of those things where whining gets you nowhere with me. However, the thing that annoyed me the most was that even when I repeated my request for material mailed or a website, he still refused to give me that information. OK, so I know that his goal was to get me to sign up then and there, but come on, I might consider joining if I could check things out first on my own.
