And it is not conducive to sweep or mop floors with a dog who believes it is her duty to kill the broom and mop.

HAHAHA, puppies rule. My dog still thinks the vacuum is her mortal enemy and she used to steal the feather duster and hide it from me for months. Eventually she would give it back, and I swear she laughed at me when she did it. I ended up owning like 5 dusters, lol.

5 dusters! Ha Ha Ha!
Did you not ever find her hiding spots?

I don't think I have to worry about the vacuum for now. I have one of those Roombas and it chased the dog under the bed one day. No more barking at the vacuum, just hiding wherever it is not.

No, we never did find her hiding spots. Usually when the dusters reappeared, they were kinda matted, nasty, and unusable. But that's about the worst habit she has, so we're pretty lucky in that regard. Plus, it's funny so I don't really mind.

I have a feeling our dog would go crazy if we brought in a roomba. Do they work very well? I've always wondered...

Only my cat wants to kill the broom. I mean she totally goes psycho.
