So my friends Elaine and Bob Ed are in town this week for a conference. Well, Elaine is here for the conference and Bob Ed is exploring SF. Yes, you are reading his name correctly, it is Bob Ed. For the longest time I thought it was Bobette, but no he is from one of those families where everyone gets called by both their names - Beulah May, Robert Earl, Bobby Sue - I guess Robert Edward was too much of a mouthful so he's Bob Ed.
At dinner last night Bob Ed was giving the rest of us his impressions of the Castro. "People aren't just gay in San Francisco they are gay in San Francisco." While Bob Ed was in the Castro, he decided that he needed a beverage and went into one of the many Starbucks. Bob Ed ordered his coffee and the barrista asked for his name. "Bob Ed", he says. And the barrista writes on the cup. Bob Ed got his cup of joe and reads where the barrista, instead of having him repeat or spell his name, has written "Uh, Ed".
