1. I am still afraid of the dark.
   
2. Even though I'm a great speller, I made spelling test cheat sheets in 4th grade.
   
3. I am a romance novel junkie. I think about writing one.
   
4. I have read over half of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince when I was told not to start it yet so I could get the rest of my work done.
   
5. I have 5 1/4 inch floppy disks saved for posterity.

How does one make a spelling test cheat sheet? Write the words on one's shoe?

Theoretically, at least when one is in 4th grade, one would take a piece of notebook paper tear a small approximately 2 x 2 square off of it. Then write very small and very neatly any of the spelling words that proved troublesome. During the test itself, the little piece of paper would be carefully hidden but accessible just inside your desk- the pencil holder is a nice spot.

I honestly can't remember ever using them during an actual test. But I remember making them because I wanted a perfect score on my spelling test each week. Not sure why, but it was my back-up plan if my mind failed. The funny part is that 4th grade is the only year I ever did that. For spelling words anyway, I confess I have committed other methods for remembering what I couldn't remember. Shameful I know. Sometimes you do what you gotta do and hope that you'll be forgiven for your wicked ways.

A word of caution - never write the spelling words on your shoe. That is a sure fire way to get caught. I personally have avoided this method because I have seen others caught because of it.
