I'm feeling a little Homer Simpson-ish right now.
I want donuts.
I can hear them calling my name.
I actually probably have the dazed look with drool that Homer gets when he sees donuts.
mmmm, sweet fried dough
donuts *drool*

Your favourite flavour would be?

Depends on where.

I'm not a big fan of mom & pop donut shops because of the tendency to have stale donuts. So I guess the ultimate favourite is fresh donuts.

Between my two favourite shops it's the good ole fashion glazed at Krispy Kreme or Bavarian Cream from Dunkin Donuts. Also partial to raspberry filled and sugar coated cake donuts.

One of the best things about the location of our new house is that it's even closer to the Krispy Kreme. I think the "Hot Now" light was on when I drove by while ago... *ducks and runs*

Yes, I'd like a dozen of whatever is hot, unless they are creme filled, then just a dozen glazed please. *smiles and bats eyelashes*

I know that Kripy Kreme should be my absolute favorite, but they don't make bavarian creams. I have a special place in my heart for those.

However, Krispy Kreme is right up the street and I would have to go to Sacramento (2 hrs) for a Dunkin, so I'll just wait until I get to Raleigh for those.

Creme-filled KK's are officially my Least Favorite Doughnut™. Conversely, Chocolate-Covered Custard Filleds are my favorite variety. What's the difference between a CCCF and a Bavarian Creme from DD? (We don't have any Dunkin' Donuts around here.)

At DD you can either get the Bavarian creme or the Boston Creme. The Boston Cremes are similar to the CCCF. The Bavarian is the same filling but powdered sugar on the outside.

It's funny that I love chocolate anything, but I have to be really in the mood for the chocolate glaze.

I did go up the street and bought a dozen on Friday. Gosh they were good.

So the next time you are in Raleigh, go to the Dunkin on Capital Blvd. Always ask what they have fresh. Usually, if there is an empty tray, they will drop more if that's what you want.

Aha. Mystery solved. I would probably love the Bavarian Cremes. CCCFs are good, but it's the custard I love and (as DD has obviously figured out) they always taste like Boston cream pies.
