I've gotten sidetracked by not giving quality posts, so I'm going to work on that. I figured with RTL gone that I would have insight on amazing things at 2 o'clock in the morning. No, not really. I just find myself surfing the net and finding random websites that tickle my funnybone. I'll also put stuff behind cuts so I don't overload anyone's friends page.

Yesterday was yardwork day. The leaves were still on the trees two weeks ago. Now they are all in my yard. Including all the leaves from the neighbor's that surround my little backyard. I raked, I mowed and raked some more. It has cooled down and the weeds are dead enough that hopefully I'll be able to get all the flower beds ripped up, tilled, mulched and beautified before the rain starts. I also plan to trim the rose bush back down to size. With that done I can replace the gate. Dexter finally found the two tomato plants that had rooted in the back. Or rather, the tomatoes ripened enough that Dexter realized it was time to eat them. I picked the two that were left before he could get those. Not ripe enough for my taste, but hopefully they will ripen a bit more on the table.

I still had room left in the plant bit, so I completed round 25 with the juniper. No spider bites, but I've got scratches aplenty. I'm going to have to duct tape my shirt sleeves the next time I work on the juniper project. I need to do something with the side of the house. It's probably going to involve spraying Weed-B-Gone back there again. I'd like to eventually plant some ground cover. Nothing invasive, but sturdy enough to walk on without killing it. Any ideas?

I've also decided that I'm going to post a note up in front of the house asking people to clean up after their dogs. I think it's the same woman who neglects to clean up after her yip yip. I've stopped her before. Literally took a baggy outside, handed it to her and said "I know how it is to run out of baggies". If looks could kill. The dog poo could be an act of revenge. If I knew it wouldn't affect any other dog, I would be tempted to go spray some hot pepper water on a daily basis to deter her dog. That would just be petty, so I'll have to come up with a better idea.

I was in the mood for barbeque yesterday, so I made some. I think I've finally found the best technique for cooking barbeque in the oven. I don't have room or money for a Pig Cooker from HellTM, so the oven will have to do. It works a lot better than the crock-pot version that was given to me. The fat was sliding off just like it does at a pig pickin'. I also used a family sauce recipe instead of the one from my friend Heather's hubby. Damn good stuff. The sauce and the barbeque.

I also made my mama's potato salad. I'm sure it would have been a lot better if she had made it, solely because I didn't have to make it myself. Ha Ha! I had to make it the last time I went home. Now I'm hungry. Is it lunch time yet?

Ed hiked RTL and Vicky all over yesterday. He took them to meet his mommy. They also went to the grocery store because his wife had sent a list with him of things to get. Peanut butter was on the list. Kind of surprising. His daughter doesn't like American peanut butter. Then again, I prefer Coca Light to Diet Coke and I can't eat Cadbury anything in Europe. Although, I haven't tried American Cadbury since the hives. Don't think I want to risk it.

And then RTL says after her synopsis of their jaunt - I really want to sell the house so we can get back to the simple life. I really want to come and live in Europe for a while. I miss the life we had when we were traveling.

Ever practical me reminds her that by saying all of those things that she is putting this idea into the universe.

She replies - I know, but I think I'm ready.

There was more stuff discussed, but basically she's ready to outline future possiblities so that the universe can get to work on putting things into action. And I think Switzerland is still on the table. I've got to think about this one some more. I'm the calm, whatever happens, happens. Which is really funny because change stresses me out, but I'm practical enough to know that you can't fight change.

I think that's it for yesterday. I'm sure more excitement is in store for me today. I'm thinking about going to the library. I should get off my butt and go to the Berekely Resident Services and get a sticker for the car.

I don't know if you have been told this before, I assume you probably have though, but you have the most amazing writing style. I was absolutely engrossed in reading about your day to day things. My God woman, you ARE turning me into a stalker! *GRIN*

My work here is done. *wipes hands*

If you think I have the most amazing writing style, you should hear me talk. ;) *laughs* Yes, I have a dear friend from forever that owes me about eleventy billion notes and letters. I write, she reads, and she just waits for the next installment. It also helps that I write like I talk. I have a friend who wants me to do voice overs.
