We did loads of work on the house. And I've got pictures to prove it!

I've had a long drawn out saga with the juniper bushes that were taking over the front of the house. Finally, RTL and I can add the curb appeal that this house needs. The bushes are gone and hauled away PLUS the huge stump that was hanging out front is gone as of today. And we've installed most of the doors. No more sheets tacked up between rooms!!!!

This is what the house looked like when we purchased it in August 2004.

If you think that looked bad, then you should see the pictures of the inside before we started renovation.

The piles of bush left, even after I had removed about 1/2 of it on my own.

The miracle of extra large machinery!

5 up and 3 left to go.

Well, that's the only good picture of one of the doors

Now I get the spend the rest of my afternoon installing door knobs. Way too much fun for me.

Yay for you! You've been wrestling with that juniper for far too long. Now that you've got it all cleaned out, what do you plan to do to the space?

I think we are going to build a pergola across the front of the house. That way it will give the front of the house a "feature" and people can look at a pretty front view and not what is technically the back of the house. Then of course we are going to plant loads of flowers/plants. No juniper! I'm going to use the mulch from the stump to cover all the weeds between the house and the neighbor's fence. And yes, we are going to get rid of that grey/blue extremely dirty and nasty looking color that the house is currently painted. I might have to post Ronette's curb appeal picture.

My dad and my love for power tools. It also helped on this house that my brother is a contractor and came out to help with a lot of the heavy duty work. There is some trial and error stuff too, like my plumbing work, which when the internet couldn't help me, I called dad so he could walk me through.

Very cool. The most handy I've gotten was unclogging the toilet and even that I had to learn from the internet.
