So tonight is the prom-themed birthday party and I thought that I would post a picture of my dress for all ya'll to see.

Isn't it just dreamy? Ten bucks, baby! Goodwill is my friend. Too bad my prom dresses ended up back at my parent's house when we moved from Virginia. That would have been awesome. And probably would have fit in all the places that this dress doesn't exactly fit. Oh well, nothing that the sewing machine won't fix. I cut off the sleeves. I decided that I would die of heat with them long.

I bought the requisite blue eye shadow yesterday for that perfect 80's look. Blue mascara too! I plan to give my curls a little boost with the spiral curling iron so the hair looks permed. It's going to be great. I should have bought some Aquanet just for that just-hardened hair smell. I think I should send Ronette to Safeway for a couple of wrist corsages.

If ya'll are lucky, I'll post pictures of the event. Me, I'm just hoping to get lucky. *ha ha*

Last night we went to San Jose to see Sweet Charity starring *drumroll*
Molly Ringwald!

It was great! I had so much fun. Molly can't dance but the show was fabulous. Did I mention how much I love Molly Ringwald? The number one reason why I wanted to see this show. And I loved the movie version with Shirley MacLain. I'm sure that I will spend the next week walking around the house singing "Hey big spender" with the requisite hip bumping to the music in my head.

Oh, before anyone boos me about Molly's dancing, she really can't dance as previously evidenced in The Breakfast Club. The show is Fosse choreography. Best dance sequence is the Rich Man's Frug. However, it was apparent from Molly's lack of dancing during the show and the modified dance steps when she did dance that Charity/Molly is not a dancer. Which was perfectly ok with me because I didn't go to see her dance. It was funny standing in line for the restroom at intermission because a couple of ladies were trying to be kind to Molly's dancing by saying "she's trying, she's really trying".

If my friends could see me nowwwwww!

I decided to go to bed early last night, given that I stayed up until 2 the night before and still got up at frickin' 7 o'clock in the morning. So I'm trying to fall asleep, The tv is on so 1)RTL can find her way to bed and 2)RTL is going to turn it on anyway. I picked a channel that I want to listen to in bed.

I was almost in dreamland when I hear faint strains of music that I recognize. My first thought is that I forgot to turn off iTunes, so I'm listening really hard to figure out if it's the computer or the tv. Then I hear "here we are, face to face, a couple of"

SILVER SPOONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I scared the bejeebers out of RTL because I jumped out of bed squealing in delight.

Sick.
I know.

How happy am I? Words cannot describe nor contain my excitement. Nick at Night is running SILVER SPOONS. The only thing that would make this better would be to own all the seasons on dvd. I LOVED Ricky Schroeder! I even considered him as a possible first husband. Of course he was in competition with Brian T. in 5th grade. I loved that show even with its intense cheesiness factor.

I'll be moving my SILVER SPOONS wishlist to a season pass and recording every episode I can get my grubby little hands on.

A few last words before I go to sleep.

I've been up watching reruns of much loved shows from my childhood -
Dukes of Hazzard on CMT and TVLand is running Perfect Strangers, Head of the Class and my superhero of alltime Wonder Woman - just to name a few.
I'm watching and I'm thinking to myself how cheesy the shows were.
But gosh, they were great shows.
What happened to all the good, cheesy, superfluous fun shows?
What happened to Underroos?
What happened to fun?

I'd just like to reclaim some semblance of the carefree world I remember when I was 10.
Maybe I'm just in a reminiscent and nostalgic mood.
I miss giggling.
I miss thinking that staying up until 10 p.m. was REALLY late.
I miss all my BFF's.

I shouldn't stay up this late.

I'm pulling out my roller skates and I'm going roller skating tomorrow. Then I'm going to find my pom poms and do a couple of cheers and some cartwheels in the driveway. Of course I'm going to do all of this while wearing a tutu and only speak in pig latin.
