I have to appreciate the San Francisco Emergency Preparedness people. They've posted a handy dandy tool to help people prepare for a major disaster.

If you are like me and have a fascination for scouring flea markets, thrift stores and swap shops for pretty dishes, be wary of putting them in the microwave.

Truthfully, I should have known better. What I thought was just "gold" detailing was really gold detailing. Ooops. The dish is ok and the microwave is ok, but I don't think I'll try that again.

If in doubt about your pretties, don't nuke them.

Although, it does make pretty sparks in the microwave.
