Late yesterday I ventured into the backyard to pick some lemons and check on how the figs were ripening. Thanks to my superworms I have beautiful figs. Think tennis ball size. Yum!
If I could mail them just picked and know they would arrive okay to eat, I would. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out how not to waste a tree full of figs.
I'd be just gorging myself on fresh figs all day but if it's a whole treeful then maybe the novelty would wear off. Maybe. I don't really know how to cook with figs since the fresh ones seemed too fabulous to do anything else with but I've heard it pairs well with meat.
