Avoiding LJ today

At least not reading other posts today so as to avoid all of the "where was I" 9/11 posts on ljover30. I knew it would be bad today, but I had an entire friends page that was devoted solely to 9/11 posts. That wasn't cool. Especially when my bitchy self really wanted to post "I lived there" since I didn't see any posts mentioning actually being in NYC. I didn't because I know 9/11 affected everyone regardless of where they lived. And I don't have sole ownership of the event. However, the posts hit a nerve that should just be left alone today so I'll read everyone tomorrow.

Well I was curious and had to look. Yours wasn't anything like the ljover30 posts. It wasn't entitled "Jumping on the bandwagon" or "Because 'fill in someone's name' told me to do it". All that was a bit too meme-ish for me. I'll stop there because I could go on, but I just wanted you to know that it was actually interesting to read yours because it was DC based.

yeah, I was living in Jersey at the time but I hear you about the rehashing -- can't help thinking it's a political agenda (cynic? who me?) -- and if all the 'real' news rehashes weren't enough, there was the network (ABC,NBC,CBS,PDQ...I dunno) 2 part made up mini series -- shit! I'm thinking the most reliable news comes from Jon Stewart or possibly BBC
