I posted this one because - peanut butter is one of my favorite foods, my grandfather used to grow about 3 acres of corn every year in which we played hide-n-seek, and hicks would be on the top of my personal torment list.

I had been toying with quitting for a while now. Something always came up. I got back from Europe and was going to quit then, but then my dog had cancer etc. There is always something. Then I got this cold/infection and even though it wasn't smoking related, when I coughed blood (Just a trace from a tear from coughing) it hit home what the future may hold for me.

Actually, now I think about it was more like 40 or more a day. Surprisingly my mood has been ok, thus far. It is FAR from the hardest thing I have ever faced in my life. That said though, it is really hard because I CAN change this. I am deliberately keeping cigarettes near me at all times, as that way I know it's my choice.

I hope I can do this.

Since I've never had to quit smoking, I have absolutely no words of wisdom or things that worked for me. I will think lots of positive thoughts and send them your way. Just be the little engine that could.
