Waiting for Ronette to come home so we can go into downtown and get our rings. We bought new bands a couple of months ago and had to wait for them to be made. It's very exciting and now my ring finger won't feel so lonely and plain anymore.

And I think I'm going to make her go back to DSW so I can buy a pair of shoes. Not the $399.99 clearance ones, but another pair that I slept on and still want.

We have our final walk-through of the house Sunday evening. Woo Hoo! We're making a list of questions for the current owner because we managed to wrangle some of her time during the walk-through. It will be nice to know what the floors are and where she bought some of the fixtures and such. I don't think we'll tell her that we're ripping out her counter tops though.

OK, I guess I should go put on some better clothes for walking around Seattle.

I tried to do some house stuff shopping today that proved to be quite fruitless. Not even a dime spent. I drove to Issaquah to the furniture shop where we bought the first bed. We found an entertainment unit at another place, but wanted to see what they had since the salesperson who helped us has called a couple of times to tell us that they've put other pieces of the bedroom set on sale. Didn't find anything exciting there so since I had the GPS I thought that I would do a little search for antique stores. I found three in the list that looked promising so off I went. Ummm, that was sucky too. I thought it was a little weird that the first address had me driving up in the hills of a residential neighborhood. Turns out that antique store #1 was in someone's house and that was a little creepy to me. So off to store #2, that was no longer an antique store and I wasn't sure about the area with store #3 and decided to go to the Factoria mall instead.

Someone should have told me that the Factoria mall sucks. Since it was lunch time I thought I would find a quick bite at the food court. Everything is closed or coming soon. I did find the DSW and thought oooh! shoes. I learned today that even if it's in the clearance section, the price may not be what you want. Found a pair that was really cute, but I didn't even try those suckers on with the clearance price of $399.99! Who buys shoes that expensive. And how much did they cost before the clearance tag? No wait! How much did they cost retail?

Anyway, shopping was a big bust today. What makes it so sad is that I was really in the mood to shop. I'm going to do a little research on antique stores so I don't end up with a list like I had today.

Furniture

Furniture shopping shouldn't be this hard, right? Or do they just not sell the furniture I want on the west coast?

We've got lots of rooms that are going to need furniture. I've been online researching for ideas and places to buy. I found a bed that I love, love, love. I had to email the company to find out who carries their stuff here because to buy it online means waiting three months to get it. OK, so maybe that kind of wait time for furniture is normal, but someone, somewhere has to have at least one in stock or as a floor model.

This past weekend was spent on the road going to every furniture store north and south of Redmond along with everything in Redmond. I've looked at a lot of crappy furniture that looks like it will fall apart if you look at it wrong. I've also looked at furniture that I would consider buying if it wasn't for the fact that the price tag is about 2 months salary. I honestly think it might be cheaper (and easier) to go home to NC, buy furniture and pay to have it shipped back here. And I won't even get into the antique furniture shopping that we've tried.

I just want some nice furniture that isn't ridiculously expensive. It's that or I'm going to Home Depot and buying some cinder blocks, a few 1 x 8's, some plywood and call it a day. Talk about shabby chick decor.
