Why are men boys stupid 99.99999%* of the time?

My friend Dave is in a band. Now, I've known Dave a few months shy of 20 years. We keep in touch, sporadically, but we keep in touch. Even though I don't really appreciate the music his band plays, I try to support the band whenever we are both in the same location. Because I know that I can't rely on Dave to keep me posted on when they are going to be in the SF area, I rely on another friend to give me dates and location. He was in town yesterday playing at the Elbo Room. The last time I saw him I told him to call me before the show and I would buy or cook him dinner. So smart-ass calls me as they are leaving SF to go to LA this morning. (yes, I skipped the Elbo Room last night. I couldn't sacrifice my ears to talk to him for 10 minutes)

Someone please explain to me why men act stupid? Although I'm sure any explanation will confound me even more, but there has to be some reasoning behind the acts of stupidness.

*Percentage is an estimate. The exact percentage could be higher in some cases.

As a rule we guys like to think that because we know something, then the information is automatically imparted to those who need to know. It is a form of information osmosis. I am surprised he didn't arrive on your doorstep expecting to be fed...I mean most guys would.

True, that has happened before. However, I think now he believes that if he waits until the last possible moment then he can continue to avoid me.

Oh man, that hurts! I am so sorry D. May I offer you a hug if I promise not to grope your ass? (Sorry just trying to make you smile here).

Hug away, I'm aware that there may be ass groping.

I understand why he does it, doesn't make it right or fair but it does put more force behind the plan to just show up at his front door one day where he will have no choice but to deal with me. *muahahhahahhahahahhahahahah*

Oh yeah - you did get in my F-off comment that I was joking?

I'll take "HUH?" for 500 please

I have come to the conclusion and acceptance that my ass must have a magnet in it because it is groped on a daily basis. You groping it is just par for the course.

OK, so I guess there must be some LJ comments that haven't made it through yet. I can't remember what I said exactly, but I thought if you didn't get it the first time that I was joking that I would clarify my position. Go check here, well I can't find the f-ing post now. But I just saw a couple of polls I missed.

It's the "Better to have loved or lost" poll where I started with the F-off comment and you're reply. However, beyond that either you've deleted the conversation thread (which is fine, I'm not complaining) or there is still a backlog on LJ.

There must be an LJ back log. I never delete things on my LJ, unless people ask me to. Oh wait I did answer it already...here is the link :)

But there was more! Unless, the rest of the conversation is in another post that I didn't look for . . .
