I used to be on top of what was going on in the literary world.
I used to know about the book before it was published.
All without the internet.
Now, I'm last in line.
HTF?

I've been listening to George Carlin's book Brain Droppings.
At the end, he invites the listener to "come over to [his] house and listen to [him] type".
Even adding "you're perfectly welcome to do so".
Could this be a legitimate offer?
I'd really like to find out by showing up at his doorstep and seeing if I would be invited in. I'd even bring the book as reference to the invitation.

Why are men boys stupid 99.99999%* of the time?

My friend Dave is in a band. Now, I've known Dave a few months shy of 20 years. We keep in touch, sporadically, but we keep in touch. Even though I don't really appreciate the music his band plays, I try to support the band whenever we are both in the same location. Because I know that I can't rely on Dave to keep me posted on when they are going to be in the SF area, I rely on another friend to give me dates and location. He was in town yesterday playing at the Elbo Room. The last time I saw him I told him to call me before the show and I would buy or cook him dinner. So smart-ass calls me as they are leaving SF to go to LA this morning. (yes, I skipped the Elbo Room last night. I couldn't sacrifice my ears to talk to him for 10 minutes)

Someone please explain to me why men act stupid? Although I'm sure any explanation will confound me even more, but there has to be some reasoning behind the acts of stupidness.

*Percentage is an estimate. The exact percentage could be higher in some cases.
