It's snowing again. What is up with Mother Nature? It was beautiful today. Bonnie and I sat out in the yard and enjoyed the sunshine. Yes, I still had to grab my sweater because it was a little chilly, but I had blue skies and sunshine and NO SNOW!!!!!

I just looked out the window and saw that there was precipitation raining *snort* from the sky. Lo and behold, what I thought was rain is snow - white fluffy flakes of snow. NOOOOOOOOO! No more, please.

All weekend, it's been snow, snow and more snow. Where is my spring? The snow has certainly curtailed most of our activities this weekend. Friday we stayed home because of snow. Saturday we all had haircuts. Melted snow on Saturday morning so that was OK. We went into Seattle for Ronette's hair. Carol and I hung out at the Experience Music Project. I love that place. And I'm excited that they are making a permanent Jimi Hendrix installation. Ronette's hair took 4 hours!!!!! So we missed going into the sci-fi side again since we were waiting for her. That's OK. The new Hendrix installation will be done at the end of the month so I want to go see what kind of changes they made to the original exhibit.

We ordered pizza Saturday night for dinner and were the last delivery of the night at 8:30 because of what? Did you say snow? Yes, of course, you are 110% correct. It was snowing and the poor delivery driver couldn't make it up the slight hill in front of the house so I gave him advice for getting back down the hill safely. And he was cute too.

Sunday we didn't get dirt like we had planned because of more snow. Off and on all day. Sticking to everything. Bonnie had a grand time of it though.

And now after my beautiful, I think the icky weather is done day I get snow.
End of story, I'm done with winter.

It's Monday morning and I guess I need to get it together and get going, but first things first.

I don't understand why Monday through Friday getting up before 7 a.m. is a chore, but on Saturday and Sunday, once the sun peaks through the curtains I'm bright-eyed, bushy tailed and rip-raring to go. Maybe it's a sign I need less sleep and not more.

Saturday was supposed to be a chore day. And I guess it did turn out to be, instead of doing most of the cleaning like we needed to, we cut all the baseboards for the kitchen. Someone please remind me that the next time I want to put in new baseboards to find the corner pieces so that I don't have to miter the corners. Mitering that large space with 25 billion corners was a pain in the butt, not to mention the amount of back-thinking needed to make sure the angles were going the right direction. I suppose eventually today I will nail them in.

Ronette and I were both kicking ourselves because we had both forgotten that we had invited our friend George over for brunch on Sunday. It's hard to come up with a brunch menu; you don't want it to be too breakfast-y or too lunch-y. We finally decided on stuffed cabbage with asparagus, beet salad, and some strawberry shortcake for dessert. Everything was wonderful which included George literally licking his plate. The only disaster was my pound cake. I should take a picture of what was left after the fall. I opted to make the pound cake in a tube pan - note to self: bake this recipe in the 3 loaf pans next time. It was beautiful - in the pan. I tried to turn it out onto the cake plate and *bam* it collapsed. We had pile of cake. I've never seen cake do this before. I've had trouble with cakes that didn't want to release from the pan, but never collapsing on itself. Perhaps the cake needed to cook a bit longer. Or maybe the cake was too dense and heavy to hold itself up. I'm not sure. It was still tasty with strawberries spooned over it.

I think that we had both planned to be really productive after George left, we had a really clean house and all, but we weren't. We ended up lazing away on the couch watching the America's Next Top Model marathon. Then as we were both complaining that it was really hot and we were both hungry, we decided to go see a movie. (This is really sad, isn't it? Going to a movie for AC and food.) Of course everything in Berkeley or Emeryville started later than we wanted or we had to be there in the next five minutes. Then I found that Parkway was playing V for Vendetta at 6. Perfect timing with food and AC.

I really liked V for Vendetta. Can we say 'Heil Bush' though? And that's all I have to say about that and this weekend. I guess I'll go nail some boards onto the wall.

Busy busy weekend and didn't do squat. Oh, I did clean the house and made sure all of Ronette's work clothes are clean for this week. I still need to finish my mother's day gift so I can mail it. Maybe I'll do that this afternoon.

Last night was a late night. We went to the last Sunday night dinner at John & Carl's. The offers for their house were due on Wednesday and they are now officially in the "Sale Pending" stage. Their incredibly short closing is 15 days plus 6 for moving. Really fast, but given that John has been working in Seattle for a month already, it makes sense. So sad to see them go. On the other hand, I think that when/if we sell this house, we are going to use their realtor.

I had great fun walking around taking drink orders. After my 2nd trip, Carl gave me a tip glass and stuck some dollar bills in it. It was enough incentive that I made a couple of bucks. I didn't even have to put on a short skirt.

And now my incentive is to go to the kitchen and find some breakfast. After that, I've got a list of things to do. I'll check back in later.

I'm thinking about turning on the heat. Although I'll probably end up curling up on the couch with the marine blanket while I eat breakfast. I guess I should at least go put on a pair of socks.

This was a pretty good weekend. RTL and I finally hung our first door. I do need to plane down a little on the edge where it is sticking, but other than that it looks great. Now we just have to go buy 9 more doors and get to work.

Saturday, we went and saw the new Harry Potter movie. We liked it very much. I didn't realize until we were at the theatre that the movie was reater PG-13. So much for ratings, it was 50% over 25 and 50% under 13 in the theatre. RTL and I had bets on how many kids would need to leave and how many would leave in tears. We didn't win the number of kids that would leave, we were off by two, but we hit the number who would leave in tears. The movie was a little scary in places. I had to cover my eyes a couple of times. Now I need to go back and reread book 4.

We also went into the city so RTL could get a haircut before we go east. I ended up walking down to Union Square to do a little shopping. I needed to go to Crate and Barrel to replace drinking glasses that I've broken and wanted to look at iPod cases at Mac. My glasses were still in stock so that was a fast trip. I finally found an iPod case that I really liked. I went into Sephora too. Sephora is a weakness of mine. I left before buying out the store. I was also looking for a snazzy pair of shoes to wear with my jeans. Something that looks better than my sneakers but not so casual as my flip flops. *sigh* I really wanted to buy shoes. RTL was really surprised when I showed up with shopping bags but not shoes. I tried on about 25 pairs of shoes and nothing looked or fit the way I wanted them to fit. I did find a pair of Marc Jacobs shoes that I really liked, but then I saw the $359 price tag on them. I couldn't even justify trying them on because if they looked great, I wasn't going to buy them. I just want to fun pair of shoes, without a 3 mile heel and a heel that isn't the size of soda can. Yep, that's what I found - big clunky heels that were no less than 3 inches. Not that I want stillettos either, but there has got to be something inbetween.

I have many things to do so I should get started.
